Neogloboquadrina pachyderma geochemistry data from Polarstern plankton tow samples, Fram Strait, 1999-2019

This dataset includes geochemistry measurements of single Neogloboquadrina pachyderma shells from 0-50 meter, 50-100 meter, and 100-200 meter depth plankton tows from stations across the Fram Strait (sites ARK XV/2 77-84). The dataset includes single shell magnesium/calcium (Mg/Ca) collected by lase...

Description
Summary:This dataset includes geochemistry measurements of single Neogloboquadrina pachyderma shells from 0-50 meter, 50-100 meter, and 100-200 meter depth plankton tows from stations across the Fram Strait (sites ARK XV/2 77-84). The dataset includes single shell magnesium/calcium (Mg/Ca) collected by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), single shell secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) stable oxygen isotope concentration (d18O), and pooled shell d18O collected on an acid-digestion isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS). The purpose of this dataset was to determine the Mg/Ca:temperature calibration for the ontogenetic calcite of N. pachyderma using the measured Mg/Ca and the conductivity temperature depth probe (CTD) collected temperatures. Additionally, we sought to better understand the d18O relationship in N. pachyderma by using two different analytical techniques.
