GeoBasis Zackenberg - Soil properties - P2_Soil temperature_0m ...

Soil temperature is measured in 0, 10, 70 and 155 cm below the surface of an icewedge 70 m south of the Zackenberg station. The soil temperature sensors were installed in 1995. Temperature was initially recorded every fifth hour until 1996, then every second hour until 1999 (2000 in 0 m), whereafter...

Description
Summary:Soil temperature is measured in 0, 10, 70 and 155 cm below the surface of an icewedge 70 m south of the Zackenberg station. The soil temperature sensors were installed in 1995. Temperature was initially recorded every fifth hour until 1996, then every second hour until 1999 (2000 in 0 m), whereafter measurements ended. Measurements in 155 cm were ended in august 1999. Blank cells are missing data. Soil properties:Soil properties GeoBasis Zackenberg:The GeoBasis monitoring programme focuses on selected abiotic characteristics in order to describe the state of Greenlandic terrestrial environments and their potential feedback effects in a changing climate. Monitored plot data is up-scaled to a landscape level and is used to improve ecosystem models to be able to quantify these feedback mechanisms. The GeoBasis programme provides an active response to recommendations in international assessments such as ACIA and SWIPA; and is continuously being adapted based on AMAP and other international founded ...
