Description
Summary:Soil moisture is measured every week, during the snow free season, along row 1 and 6 in the ZEROCALM-2 grid (row numbers and grid nodes can be found in the GeoBasis Zackenberg manual). Soil moisture is measured every 10th meter in each row. Measurements were initiated in 1997 (where only one measurement was made at each grid node), however measurements were paused until 2004, whereafter three replicates were made by each grid stone, if possible. Soil moisture is measured manually using a ThetaProbe which measures the soil moisture within the first 6 cm from the soil surface (indicated with 0-6_cm in the columnname). Soil properties:Soil properties GeoBasis Zackenberg:The GeoBasis monitoring programme focuses on selected abiotic characteristics in order to describe the state of Greenlandic terrestrial environments and their potential feedback effects in a changing climate. Monitored plot data is up-scaled to a landscape level and is used to improve ecosystem models to be able to quantify these feedback ...
