Summary:The genus Sebastes is very common and widely distributed in the North Atlantic. It is found off the coast of Britain, along Norway in the Barents Sea and Spitzbergen, off the Faroe Islands, Iceland, East - Greenland, West - Greenland, and along the east coast of North America from Baffin Island South to Cape Cod (Magnússon and Magnússon, 1995). All Sebastes species are viviparous. The extrusion of the larvae takes place in late winter - late spring/early summer but copulation occurs in autumn-early winter. ...
