Summary: | Hydrobiological investigations were carried out along standard sections in the Norwegian Sea (1 to 26 June) on R/V "Persey III", "Ayaks" and "Korenovsk" from the Soviet Union (Fig. 1). R/V "Bjarni Sæmundsson" operated in Icelandic waters from 27 May to 13 June. Between 20 June and 1 July blue whiting survey was carried out in the Norwegian Sea on the Icelandic R/V "Ärni Frioriksson" (Fig. 9). The sampling methods and analysis were the same as applied in previous years. The paper describes the preliminary results of hydrographic conditions and plankton biomass in the above sea areas. The relative densities of blue whiting in the areas between Iceland and Faeroes (from 62°30·N-65°00') and between Faeroes and Norway (from 61°30'N-64°00') are also presented. ... |
