| Summary: | At the 66th Statutory meeting it was decided (C.Res.1978/4:6) that: "(a) the ICES List of Species Items, as described in Doc.C.M.1975/D:7 and adopted by C.Res.1976/4:11, should be updated by the Statistician, taking into account some recent revisions in the FAQ International Standard Statistical Classification of Aquatic Animals and Plants (ISSCAAP), inclusion of seaweeds into the Bulleting Statistique items, adoption of the CWP common list of North Atlantic species items (with standard abbreviations) as well as additional fish species on which member countries are now reporting catch statistics; (b) due to rapid developments in the construction of a world list of marine species items, the ICES Secretariat should make the necessary adjustments to the agreed list of 3-Alpha abbreviations (Reference C.Res. 1977/1:17) and inform member countries accordingly.
