The six precipitation variables are as follows: (1) precipitation totals; (2) frequency of precipitation days; (3) daily precipitation intensity; (4) the 90th percentile of daily precipitation totals; (5) frequency of heavy-precipitation days; and (6) maximum number of consecutive dry days. A precipitation and heavy-precipitation day have at least 1 mm and 25 mm, respectively, of precipitation.
