Summary:We developed the annual time series (1942-2011CE) of stable oxygen isotope (δ18O) and snow accumulation rate retrieved from Kuokuosele (38°11′34.32″ N, 75°10′57.90″ E, 5700 m a.s.l.) and Zuoqiupu (29°11′56.65″ N, 96°54′11.68″ E, 5580 m a.s.l.) ice cores in northwestern and southeastern Tibetan Plateau (TP), respectively. The annual mean δ18O record of Kuokuosele ice core shows a fluctuating warming trend from the beginning of the record to the late 1990s and then a distinct cooling until 2011.The precipitation at high elevation in the northwestern TP indicated by snow accumulation record shows an overall decreasing trend from the 1940s to the 1970s, followed by an increase with fluctuation to a peak in the late 2000s. In the southeastern TP, the reconstructed Zuoqiupu ice core snow accumulation record exhibits a short-lived wetting during the 1940s-1950s, followed by a general drying trend in the subsequent decades until present.
