Description
Summary:New data analyzed in Ballinger et al (2021) GRL, and not otherwise publicly archived, are described and provided below. This includes: Fig1_Seadragon_Drift.csv - describes the latitude and longitude of ICEX 2020 Camp Seadragon drift as shown in Figure 1. Fig4_Arctic_storm_counts.txt - describes the monthly frequency of storms entering the Arctic (>=65N) from 1948-2020; 6-hourly SLP fields from NCEP/NCAR reanalysis are fed into the cyclone tracker described in Zhang et al (2004) to derive cyclone counts that are then binned to the monthly scale. Data are normalized and plotted in Figure 4. Fig4_W_Arctic_storm_counts.txt - describes the monthly frequency of storms entering the West Arctic region (70-85N, 120-180W) from 1948-2020; 6-hourly SLP fields from NCEP/NCAR reanalysis are fed into the cyclone tracker described in Zhang et al (2004) to derive cyclone counts that are then binned to the monthly scale. Data are normalized and plotted in Figure 4.
