Summary:Drifter sediment trap was deployed in the Indian sector of the Southern Ocean from December 2016 to January 2017, and in January 2018, and from December 2019 to January 2020. Fecal pellet and Gyrodinium cells were sampled using a drifter sediment trap. Size, sinking rate, and flux of fecal pellets and Gyrodinium cells were calculated using microscopic observation and an isotope-ratio mass spectrometer.
