Description
Summary:This data publication provides data about the epibiotic relationships in macrofaunal communities from the Mingulay Reef Complex cold-water coral reefs. Associations between macrofaunal hosts and epifauna were examined in 47 stations at the Mingulay Reef Complex (northeast Atlantic). In total, 101 (group level) and 340 (species level) unique types of facultative associations formed by 43 hosts and 39 epifaunal species were found. ... : Explanation of epifaunal associations ("Column B") recording system. The underscore symbol "_" in column "B" denotes the attachment of an epifaunal organism on a host. For example: 1) "A.flemingii_H.squamula": The species A.flemingii was attached on the species H.squamula. 2) "A.flemingii-Buskia sp_P.squama": The species A.flemingii and Buskia sp. were attached on the species H.squamula. 3) "R.beaniana_P.anguicomus_H.arctica". The species R.beaniana was attached on species P.anguicomus which (in turn) was attached on species H.arctica. ...
