Description
Summary:Bathymetry from multibeam echo sounding data from three glacial cross-shelf troughs of the Labrador Shelf, namely the Okak, Makkovik and Cartwright troughs, are presented. The data were collected onboard the Maria S. Merian during cruises MSM45 and MSM84 using a Kongsberg EM122. The EM122 was operated in dual swath mode at 12 kHz frequency with a 1°×1° beam width. All raw multibeam data collected on MSM84 can be accessed here: (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.916191). Data post-processing included manually error cleaning and depth correction using sound-velocity profiles with Fledermaus (MSM45) and Caris HIPS and SIPS (MSM84). The available datasets from both expeditions were merged and gridded with a cell size of 25 m using the Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) data processing and display software package (GMT version 6.1.1). Horizontal datum is WGS84. EPSG code is 4326. The objective of compiling the bathymetry data from the Labrador Shelf is to map glacial landforms and reconstruct the dynamics of the ... : These data should not be used for navigational purposes.Ship time for the cruise MSM84 was funded by the DFG under the award MerMet 17-49, Gebhardt, LABRADOR-GLACIALS. ...
