Description
Summary:The presented data build on the homogenized radiosonde data set 1993 to 2016 at the arctic site Ny-Ålesund (78.9°N, 11.9°E), Svalbard, which corrected discontinuities in the instrumentation by correcting known errors in the Manufacturer-provided profiles. In order to extent this existing homogenized data record, the 2017 to 2022 Ny-Ålesund radiosonde data processed by the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Reference Upper-Air Network (GRUAN) have been interpolated on the according height resolution. The applied GRUAN processing algorithm for the RS41-GDP1 includes corrections of the raw calibrated data for systematic errors in the measurements of pressure, temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and wind direction. A description of the applied algorithm is provided in the GRUAN Technical Note TN-13 (accessible through www.gruan.org). To date, the radiosonde data processed by GRUAN represent the best independently corrected radiosonde data for Ny-Ålesund. The gridded data presented are considered ...
