Description
Summary:Computed Tomography DICOM images of core CE18011_VC2 acquired from the western Porcupine Bank (Latitude 51.9765, Longitude -15.037) on board the RV Celtic Explorer using the Holland 1 Remotely Operated Vehicle during the Cold-Water Coral Habitats in Submarine Canyons (CoCoHaCa) cruise campaign (cruise code - CE18011_VC2). Images acquired using a GE Revolution HD 64 slice computer tomography scanner at the Cork University Hospital, Cork, Ireland (11.09.2018). Data were acquired with an X-ray source voltage of 120 kV and a current of 600 mA. The acquired scans have a resolution of 0.35 x 0.35 x 0.625 mm3 (x, y, z direction). The core spans from the Late Pleistocene to the Early Holocene (35.8 to 9.8 ka BYP). The core has a unique Ice Rafted Debris Core, which further adds to the understanding of the deglaciation history of the British-Irish Ice Sheet. ...
