Total sea-ice thickness (ice + snow) and snow depth measurements on melt-pond covered Multi-Year-Ice during the Oden_AO2018 campaign (Arctic Ocean 2018: MOCCHA - ACAS - ICE) Central Arctic / North Pole

Total sea-ice thickness measurements were obtained using a ground-based electromagnetic induction sounding device (GEM-2, Geophex Ltd, Raleigh, NC, USA) during walking surveys on melt-pond covered Multi-Year-Ice during the Oden_AO2018 campaign (Arctic Ocean 2018: MOCCHA - ACAS - ICE) Central Arctic...

Description
Summary:Total sea-ice thickness measurements were obtained using a ground-based electromagnetic induction sounding device (GEM-2, Geophex Ltd, Raleigh, NC, USA) during walking surveys on melt-pond covered Multi-Year-Ice during the Oden_AO2018 campaign (Arctic Ocean 2018: MOCCHA - ACAS - ICE) Central Arctic / North Pole drift station in 2018 on IB ODEN. The GEM-2 was placed on a sledge and dragged across the ice and has a vertical accuracy of ± 0.1 m. The sea-ice thickness measurements were accompanied by measurements of snow depth with a Magna Probe (Snow-Hydro, Fairbanks, AK, USA) with an accuracy of 0.01 m.
