Summary: | The tethered balloon system BELUGA (Balloon-bornE moduLar Utility for profilinG the lower Atmosphere) was operated at Villum research station in northern Greenland (81°34'54''N, 16°37'14''W, elevation 30m). The measurements were taken during the PAMARCMiP (Polar Airborne Measurements and Arctic Regional Climate Model Simulation Project) campaign on 14 days in the period 21 March to 4 April 2018. For this campaign, a 9 m³ helium-filled balloon with modular instrumentation was used. The dataset includes updated measurements of standard meteorological data based on a GRAW DFM-09 radiosonde with additional wind speed measurements by a Pitot-static probe The flights are summarized in the flight overview table (see Further details). Each flight includes measurements of standard meteorological data and in most cases of a second instrument. ... : In this new version of the data, the wind speed calibration for the standard meteorology sonde has been revised. ... |
