Summary: | Total sea-ice thickness measurements were obtained using a ground-based electromagnetic sound device (EM31-SH, Geonics Limited, Mississauga, ON, Canada) during walking surveys on First-Year-Ice during the ALERT2018 campaign (Multidisciplinary Arctic Program (MAP) - Last Ice) off Alert, Nunavut, Canada in the Lincoln Sea in May 2018. The walks were along a 100 m transect and across an approx. 100 times 100 m wide patch. The sea-ice thickness measurements were accompanied by measurements of snow depth with a Magna Probe (Snow-Hydro, Fairbanks, AK, USA). High spatial coverage and resolution surface topography and snow depth measurements were additionally obtained using a Terrestrial Laser Scanner (VZ-400i, RIEGL, Horn, Austria). ... |
