Miocene ocean temperatures (TEX86-L) of the ANDRILL-2A record, Ross Sea, Antarctica

Description
Summary:Early and mid-Miocene sea surface ocean temperatures in the sediment record of ANDRILL (ANtarctic DRILLing Project) AND-2A, Ross Sea (Antarctica), were obtained through analyses of iso-GDGTs (glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers) and TEX86-based paleothermometry. Sediment samples were extracted using accelerated solvent extraction technique (ASE) and the polar fractions were analyzed for tetraether lipids using high-performance liquid chromatography/atmospheric pressure positive ion chemical ionisation mass spectrometry (HPLC/APCI-MS) as described by Schouten et al. (2007). TEX-L (calibration 0-200m, Kim et al., 2012) was chosen to calculate temperatures.
