Description
Summary:The RECAP ice core which has been drilled on the Renland ice cap, East Greenland, in 2015 and two shallow ice cores S1 and S2 from the vicinity of the main core have been inspected with regard to their melt content. Using density profiles of the three cores obtained by the AWI ice core µCT, and the dating of the main core, we calculated the ratio of the snow water equivalent of the melt contained within an annual layer and the snow water equivalent of the respective total annual layer. The result is the annual melt ratio, our dataset reaches back 10,000 years.
