Summary: | Two mumiyo deposits from Petermann Range and one deposit from the south-western part of Dallmann Berge were investigated. Deposit PRM10 was collected below a large boulder in front of an abandoned nesting site (12°35'E/71°22'S). The deposit has a maximum thickness of c. 18 cm. Deposit PRM8 was collected at Nunatak Kontaktnaya, below a moraineboulder (71°21'S/12°36'E). The deposit has a maximum thickness of c. 18 cm. Deposit DallSW1830 was collected in the south western part of Dallmann Berge (71°46'S/10°11'E) in proximity to a moraine and has a maximum thickness of c. 15 cm.All three deposits were cut and a block from the centre was used to obtain XRF elemental scans on perpendicular profiles. Along with XRF elemental scans high-resolution line scan images were obtained. Two profiles (PRM10 and DallSW1830) were sub-sampled for quantification of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur. ... : This contribution was funded by DFG SPP 1158 (BE4764/4-1). ... |
