Description
Summary:This dataset includes light absorption spectra, HPLC pigments and CHEMTAX community composition of phytoplankton collected during 2013 and 2014 austral summers in the northern Antarctic Peninsula. Our analysis in Ferreira et al, JGR (in press) showed that 1) variations in photosynthetic and photoprotective pigments are not discernible by changes in the chlorophyll-specific absorption of phytoplankton; 2) a cluster analysis identifies a regular increase in the degree of package effect of phytoplankton absorption; and 3) a regular increase in the degree of package effect is associated with an increase of fucoxanthin and decrease of photoprotective pigments relative to chlorophyll-a. : To download the data, please contact:amabilefr@gmail.com
