Description
Summary:Foraminifera picked, cleaned and isotope measurements carried out on the 315-400µm size fraction (unless otherwise mentioned, *e.g. 2+3 means 2 sinistral and 3 dextral tests) by Kyaw Winn in 1986/87 with the CARBO KIEL.Massenspectrometer Finnigan MAT 251, Christian-Albrechts-University, Kiel.61 single specimen measurements not listed because of high (>0.12) sigma values.MIS stratigraphy is not possible, even with detailed sampling, because of the very low sedimentation rate and hiatuses in the sedimentary sequence. The Brunhes-Matuyama is just under 1.6m. Each sample represents a time span of 2-3 ka. Nevertheless, the carbon isotope ratios gave a good record of the nutrient history of the Southern Sea.
