Sea-ice salinity and oxygen isotopes measured during the drift station (2004-11-29 to 2005-01-02) of the POLARSTERN cruise ANT-XXII/2 (ISPOL)

Description
Summary:Various physical properties of snow and sea ice were measured during ice stations in the Western Weddell Sea, Antarctic, during the POLARSTERN cruise ANT-XXII/2 (ISPOL) in 2004. All stations during the transect from the ice edge to the drift station were reached by helicopter. During the drift station (2004-11-29 to 2005-01-02) the ice was accessed through a gangway directly from the vessel. During the drift station, patches P6 and P9 were on first-year sea ice, patches P5 and P8 on multi-year sea ice. All vertical positions are corrected to freeboard, e.g. z=0 represents the snow-ice interface. More detailed information about the data sets and methods are available from the cruise report (section 3.2). Core names (labels) refer to the name convention of that cruise, including date and core type.
