Description
Summary:Multibeam data were collected during R/V Polarstern cruise ARK-II/4. Systematic profiling and data recording was executed in Fram Strait crossing Molloy Deep. Data recording was supervised by two hydrographers. Data are unprocessed and may contain outliers and blunders. Therefore the data should not directly be used for grid calculations and charting projects but need to be edited furthermore. One file normally contains a measurement period of one day. The dataset consists of 11 files in originally Seabeam binary multibeam format (*.geo) and additionally of 11 files converted into a more common Seabeam Format (*.mb14). Both datasets are compressed with GZIP to size of 8.6 MB. Seabeam data files (*.mb14) can be processed using the open source software package MB-System (http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/pi/MB-System/) or the software package CARAIBES from IFREMER.For overview images and shape files see doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.758994, the results of the multibeam survey (phi, lambda, depth) can be found at ...
