Summary:Project 74-4/625 Proceeding and Generalization of Materials of Parametric Drilling on Arctic Islands (Grumant parametric drill hole on the Western Spitzbergen).Reasons for drilling:1. Comprehensive study of properties, composition and lithologic-facial features of sedimentary rocks from the geological section in the West Svalbard.2. Obtaining information for stratification of the section and its allocation with geophysical sections.Technical results:The hole has penetrated the section of 3173 m and stopped in Permian deposits. 620 samples have been collected.Scientific results:1. Comprehensive lithologic and paleontological (different fauna groups) studies of drill samples from the hole have allowed to reveal lithologic features and to carry out detailed lithologic and stratigraphic sequence of Permian, Mesozoic and Paleogene sedimentary rocks.2. Typical matter complexes have been determined and their geophysical characteristics have been given.3. Two rock complexes have been revealed in the section. The ...
