Summary:The movie shows the region of the Antarctic Peninsula (land mask: grey; ice shelf: white). Sea ice cover (colour coded) is shown in a daily time series beginning 1996-12-02 for 15 month. Juvenile southern elephant seals (born October 1996, yellow symbols) and adult females (green symbols) had been equipped with satellite transmitters at King George Island (South Shetland Islands). When individuals are lost to the satellite for longer than 24 hours the symbols appear as outlines.
