Description
Summary:These data accompany the paper "Antarctic Topographic Realizations and Geostatistical Modeling Used to Map Subglacial Lakes" (MacKie et al., in review). This dataset contains 100 geostatistically generated subglacial topographic realizations for Antarctica. Data science techniques were used to calculate the probability of the occurrence of radar-detected lakes and altimetry-detected (active) lakes across the continent, using each topographic realization as a parameter. This generated 100 probability maps of the likelihood of radar-detected lake occurrence and 100 probability maps of active lake occurrence. Further statistics were used to generate 100 binary maps showing expected radar-detected lake locations. The ensemble of realizations can be used for uncertainty quantification.
