Phytoplankton community composition in the water column of East Greenland fjords, August 2022 ...
The community composition of suspended phytoplankton was investigated at 7 stations along the East Greenland coast as part of the EU project ECOTIP. Water was sampled in Dove Bay (1 station: 5, 40, 50 m), Kong Oscar fjord (2 stations: 5, 42, 50 m and 5, 43, 50 m), Arden Caple fjord (3 stations: 5, 4...

Summary: | The community composition of suspended phytoplankton was investigated at 7 stations along the East Greenland coast as part of the EU project ECOTIP. Water was sampled in Dove Bay (1 station: 5, 40, 50 m), Kong Oscar fjord (2 stations: 5, 42, 50 m and 5, 43, 50 m), Arden Caple fjord (3 stations: 5, 40, 50 m; 5, 40, 50 m; 5, 20, 50 m) and outside Scoresby Sound on the continental shelf (1 station: 5, 40, 50 m). While 5 m and 50 m were used as standard depths, the intermediate depth was chosen depending on the fluorescence sub-surface maximum. At each sampling depth, the water was collected with a 10 L Niskin bottle attached to a sampling rosette. A subsample of 100 mL from the Niskin bottle was preserved with 1 mL acidic Lugol’s solution for later microscopic analysis. From this field work, there are also other data available: 1) cruise track with a station list (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.953084, https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.953083), 2) underway measurements (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.959027), ... |
