Description
Summary:The data presented here was collected under the 2023 phase of the "Biodiversity Sampling from Cruise Liners using eDNA" project that was initiated to contribute data to the eBioAtlas program. These data are from the MSC Cruises’ vessel, the Poesia, and their collection is a groundbreaking project that aims to use the best available innovative technology to fill gaps in marine biodiversity data and to make these data available to conservation decision-makers. It is a collaborative effort between NatureMetrics, MSC Cruises, and the MSC Foundation. The data is being made available by the MSC Foundation and MSC Cruises to be used by the eBioAtlas program. eBioAtlas is a collaboration between NatureMetrics and IUCN to use the power of eDNA to fill global biodiversity knowledge gaps and deliver impact in conservation. The goal is to establish a cohesive biodiversity data layer, facilitating informed decision-making for the betterment of both humanity and nature. [This dataset was processed using the GBIF eDNA ...
