Summary:The dataset contains 26 occurrence records: 25 of them are for Castor canadensis Kuhl, 1820 (species level) and one record (from the National park “Anyuyskiy”) of the genus Castor, because the exact species name of beavers from this locality has not been established. The North American beaver is an invasive alien species in Eurasia. The occurrence records the C. canadensis located in all the main places of its distribution in Russia: in the European part (northwest) and in the east of the Asian part (Far East and Kamchatka). In the northwest region the beavers migrated from Finland, and were intentionally introduced in Far East and Kamchatka. The dataset includes visual observations in the specially protected natural territories, as well as records from literature. The dataset includes observations from 1992 to 2018. ...
