Summary:Dr. Byers’s work focuses on Outer Space, Arctic sovereignty, climate change, the law of the sea, the laws of war, and Canadian foreign and defence policy. He is the author of Who Owns the Arctic? Understanding Sovereignty Disputes in the North (2010) and the Donner Prize winner International Law and the Arctic (2013). Dr. Byers is a regular contributor to the Globe and Mail. He serves as chair of the Board of the Salt Spring Forum, an annual speakers’ series on Salt Spring Island, BC. Dr. Boley seeks to put the solar system in context with the many other planetary systems we know exist. His research seeks to answer the question of whether there is life elsewhere in the galaxy. His research team makes use of supercomputer simulations and observations from one of the world’s most powerful astronomy facilities, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). ...
