Description
Summary:Model dataset of idealised simulations with MITgcm (Adcroft et al., 2018; Losch, 2008) of an externally forced barotropic current that approaches an ice shelf through a trough. The dataset consists of one control simulation with a homogeneous ocean and no ice shelf melt, together with 22 experiments in which resolution, stratification, ice shelf geometry and ice shelf melting are changed. The dataset is organized by experiments, where each experiment folder has a subfolder with the input data (boundary conditions, geometry, initial conditions and model data-files), code (model setup) and run (model output in steady-state). The experiments have random names with the specifications given in the included table List_modelruns_paper.xlsx and in the science publication that belongs to the dataset. The model simulations are spun up from rest and the saved model output data (.meta and .data files) are averages of the last two days, when the system is in a quasi steady-state. The homogeneous experiments and those ... : 5180 null, totaling ...... 33.64 GB ...
