Summary:The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a large carnivore found on the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean. As a result of climate change, the melting of the sea ice has listed this species as vulnerable. Polar bears depend on ice for their existence and play an important role in the overall health of the marine environment. Current conservation efforts have focused on preserving the biodiversity in the Arctic by reducing industrial impacts. This poster will evaluate the current conservation plans for this species and offer alternative solutions.
