Description
Summary:The fifth and final part of the series on the evolution of the relationship between man and the Eurasian Eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is devoted to the genesis of the long-standing conflict between conservative hunters on the one hand and ornithologists and environmentalists on the other. Protection of the eagle-owl was introduced step-by-step, the end result being a ban on hunting with eagle-owls and a ban on collecting chicks from nests. However, it was not until 1992 that the eagle-owl was included in the list of protected animals in the Czech Republic.
