Summary: | Plant invasions are problematic even in the mountain regions. In the Krkonoše National Park, alkaline road pavement from the 1970s and 1980s, generating roadside vegetation with high amount of synanthropic and invasive species, has had most remarkable impact. Since 1996, alkaline gravel has been replaced by siliceous materials, restoration of arctic-alpine tundra is possible. |
