| Summary: | The environment in the Doksy region (historicaly the Bezděz region) was under the interdisciplinary study concerned recent relic vegetation, pollen, macrorest analysis and charcoal analysis in the historical and archaeological circumstances with an ambition to get visualization of the past environment. The pedological exploration suggested why the Dosky region was not under the current agricultural colonization though not conclusively various man activities were mentioned in sandstone minig, glass industry, iron ore mining, constructions of charcoal kilns, sculpturing dwellings or residences in the sandstone rocks (the rock architecture) and building fishponds. Very deep podzol soils were discovered in the area which evidence the longlasting podzolization. The acidophilous pine forests with the natural occurence of spruce following by the vegetation on the rocks and mires survive here in the resembling composition of species throughout the Holocene and therefore the most continuous area of the taiga in our country is proved here.
