Summary:Trichinella spp. isolates from Arctic fox, wolf and common fox following several passages on rats showed a high resistance to low temperatures characteristic for T. nativa compared with other tested strains and isolates. Resistance to freezing of Trichinella isolates from wild animals in carcasses of white rats at -23oC for 56 hours may be the characteristic feature of T. nativa.
