Summary:In the territory of Arkhangelsk Region that is traditionally oriented to timber harvesting and its exporting an effective measure of forest conservation and keeping of high biodiversity there is the procedure of voluntary forest certification. It helps to protect 1525 % of forest grounds from felling. Unfortunately, only 2.5 million ha of forests have been certified by now, that is 1/10 part of a forestcovered territory of the region.
