Summary: | Based on long-term (1994-2010) data of the bank vole and its specialized predator – the least weasel abundance in Middle Urals dark-coniferous southern taiga, we elaborated a mathematical model (artificial neuron network) to predict the least weasel abundance. Despite of the some loss of regularity in predator and prey dynamics, we got a perfect agreement of our predictions and observations. Our model could be used for sufficiently accurate forecast of least weasel abundance at least by 0.5-1 years ahead. |
