Description
Summary:The analysis of the state of the most harvested groups of wild reindeer in West Taimyr was carried out. The characteristic of the impact of anthropogenic and technogenic factors on the state of animals of the Yenisei group was given. It was found that the given group was on the threshold of crisis as evidenced by the data of the state of numbers, fecundity, fatness, age and sex structure. It was shown that one of the main problems of game reindeer breeding was the loss of control over the population of wild reindeer of Taimyr. The analysis of various methods of harvesting of wild reindeer was made, and it was suggested to introduce harvesting with mobile teams and with the use of makeshift artificial fences and shelters. The authors consider that it is possible to regulate the numbers, age and sex structure, fecundity and vital capacity of a population only by limited and regularly controlled harvesting. Under recent economic conditions it may be carried out if game reindeer breeding management will be focused in scientific and industrial association of hunting resource users of all forms of property. Measures directed to minimize the impact of negative consequences of anthropogenic factors on the populations should include, on the one hand, strict obeying of the rules of hunting on wild reindeer by all people and organizations and the all possibly fight against different ways of poaching and, on the other hand, preservation of the areas inhabited by the animals. It was also suggested an obligatory ecological and veterinary control over the state of certain groups of wild reindeer of Taimyr.
