Summary:В статье рассматривается изменение статуса мужчины и отца, происходящие под влиянием социально-экономических, политических и культурных факторов на примере северорусской семьи. The Russian North, which has never been uniform economically, culturally and socially, may give ample material for comparative analysis of the fathers role and status in educating children in the Pomor families subsisting both on farming and fishing/hunting. The outcomes and patterns in fatherhood transformation in the course of historical, cultural and modern society development enable to conclude that the institute of fatherhood is undergoing drastic changes. The attitude to mans and fathers role in the family has changed completely.
