Wetlands cover 68 % of the territory, with mesotrophic ones contributing very little into the total area covered by wetlands. Eutrophic wetlands are practically absent in this area. Ridges and hummock complexes occupy mostly the periphery of the bogs. The central parts of the bogs are dominated by various combinations of ridges, palsas, hummocks and lakes, overall accounting for 45 % of the key study site area.
