Summary:This paper is a brief survey of the project "Sakhalin-2", it examines how the project was planned and how it was implemented in real life. The material is structured by the basic topics that describe the main issues of the "Sakhalin Energy Investment" company's business. This article contains the viewpoints of the top managers of the "Sakhalin Energy Investment", and analysis of Russian and Japanese newspaper articles concerning this topic. This paper describes the importance of "Sakhalin-2" project in prospect as a part of the big Program of oil and gas extraction on the Sakhalin island's continental shelf.
