Description
Summary:The article introduces in scientific work materials of new sites of Neolithic and earlier periods, which were discovered during the last 10 years in Kamchatka. The analysis of these materials deals with the question of Neolithic periodization, ethnic characteristic and determination of the basic types of economy. In addition to the sites known earlier the new ancient monuments of different types were discovered. Cores, blades, bifaces, arrowheads and spearheads present the collection of artifacts. The main material is obsidian. Generally the blade technique was used. In our time the most whole periodization, chronology and ethnic characteristic of ancient history of Kamchatka is the scheme offered by N.N. Dikov. The finds of the last years convince of doubtless existence of the original Neolithic cultures. The facts for the whole characteristic of these cultures are not enough. Earlier the one of Kamchatka Stone Age features considered being the microtechnique. But now we can discuss one more character feature of another Stone Age period the macrotechnique. Now the Neolithic map of Kamchatka is a white spot with the rare includings of finds belonging to this time. Among new material the different types of arrowheads are the most expressive. They are markers, the original "cultural determinant". Its may be the evidence of the existence of different cultural formations, of their dynamic or of probable coexistence. This our supposition contradicts to the point of view about the long time isolation of Kamchatka, about the uninterrupted development of it"s basically single ancient population. Of course, we couldn"t agree with the statement that "on the whole this period have been investigated". We can suppose that not only the south of Far East but also Kamchatka is the special area, where the original cultures of Neolithic epoch were formed. Next to the Neolithic the period of Paleometal came.
