In April 2002 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky a preliminary sociological research in the framework of the project "Philosophic, psychological, information and analytic survey of the Russian neo-occults (based on the materials from Moscow, Khabarovsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky)" was made by an active group of the 4th year students (consisted of Mikheyeva M., Koshkareva S., Lyashuk A., Zyikova O., Gorunova E.) studying at Kamchatka State Teacher Training University, Department of History. The main aim of this research was primary analysis of the attitude of the inhabitants of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to neo-occults. Questionnaire was the method used. According to the collected materials of the research the authors have come to the conclusion that the mentioned problem is socially significant. So it is necessary to set up special scientific centers to study theory and practice of neo-occults and to control the commercial neo-occults because of the probability of negative consequences for the people who are far from this specific sphere.
