Summary:Results from a cruise undertaken by Spain as part of a general North Atlantic Sightings Survey are presented. Between 6 July and 3 August 1987 a total of 2.323 n.miles were steamed on searching effort in three areas between southwest Ireland and northwest Spain. A total of 151 sightings was made. 91 of fin whales, 5 of sperm whales, 11 of pilot whales and 44 of other cetacean species. Some comments are made about the fin whale distribution found in the cruise
