Description
Summary:Poster.-- European Geophysical Society, American Geophysical Union, European Union of Geosciences Joint Assembly, Nice, France, 6-11 April 2003 An intensive hydrographic sampling with a weekly frequency was carried out off the NW Iberian Peninsula between May 2002 and 2003, to target the variability of the oceanographic processes on a short time scale. In this presentation, we will focus on the nutrient (nitrate, phosphate, silicate, total inorganic carbon) enrichment / oxygen consumption due to remineralisation processes in the subsurface Eastern North Atlantic Central Waters and in the main core of Mediterranean Water. Applying an inverse method, we will obtain the nutrient enrichment / oxygen consumption profiles for a position off the continental shelf. These results will give us some insights about the short term variability of the remineralisation of the organic matter through mesopelagic layer No
