Cod constituted the bulk of tho catch (157,740.0 tans), followed by Squids (16,137 tans), capelin 4,016 tona, haddock (1,553.2 tons) and pollock (1,455.6 tons). Haddook and pollock are taken as by-catch of the directed fishery of Cod, which is mainly operated by pair trawlers, and takes plaae in Subareas 1-5.
