| Summary: | Suplemento de Investigación Pesquera.-- 14 páginas, 8 figuras, 1 tabla [EN] The study is based on net samples (meshize of 0,1 mm) collected in surface tows in a number of stations (figs. 1-8) occupied in August and September 971 off the coast of Africa. The percentage composition of the foraminiferan fauna in the different stations is geiven in table I. In the coastal upwelling area, near Cabo Blanco, Globigerina bulloides, Globigeriellna aequilateralis and Globigeriellna dradyi are the most abundant species. Globigerinoides ruber and Globigerinoides saculifer are characteristic of a girdle that surrouns offshore the upwelling area, [.] [ES] En agosto-septiembre de 1971 el Instituto de Investigaciones Pesqueras de España organizó una expedición a las costas del Sahara español y Mauritania con el propósito de estudiar el área de afloramiento y de gran fertilidad que se encuentra en el noroeste africano. La expedición se realizó a bordo del buque oceanográfico español «Cornide de Saavedra». Un reportaje previo de las distintas actividades desarrolladas se encuentra en MARGALEZ (1971, 1972) y ANÓNIMO (1972).
