Description
Summary:[EN] Research carried out in both sides of the Pyrenees for the last 20 years have demonstrated the existence of an important archaeological heritage in some high areas of the mountain range. Such traces are frequently located above 2.000 m of altitude, in areas that have been linked to cattle activities in past centuries. They usually are the remains of some constructions like shacks and enclosures. Moreover, some funerary evidences have also been located, as well as rock art, pottery deposits, mining installations, etc. In 2015, the group of High Mountain Archaeology (GAAM) began a series of archaeological prospecting in the valley of Góriz, inside the National Park of Ordesa-Monte Perdido, using a similar methodology to which has been used for more than 10 years in the National Park of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici. As a result of this first research, many unpublished archaeological sites have been reported, and they are apparently linked to cattle activities. This archaeological register has been carried out according to the parameters agreed by the international network DEPART: Dynamics of Altitude Spaces of the Pyrenees – a GIS for archaeological heritage and modelling the pastoral territories. In addition to the recapitulation of these results, this paper details the methodology implemented in the fields of surface prospecting and recording of archaeological evidences. Finally, it illustrates the later integration of the information in a spatial geo-base of information.
